Welcome to my website

I am a painter who mainly uses watercolour, acrylic and pastel.  Examples of my work are shown on my linked pages - use the headers above or if you want the pages to open in new windows, click on the images to the right.

Then click on the images in rows to see a larger, in-proportion version of each picture.  Use your back button to return to the rows of images.

Pictures of London are included on both my Landscape and Urban Scenes pages.  Enquiries regarding commissions on the figure and landscape themes featured on my site are welcome.

Latest News

I am very pleased to have a picture in this year's Discerning Eye exhibition, in November.

I very much enjoyed taking part in recent en plein air events at Dedham Vale and Wells-next-the-Sea.  I have loaded two of my pictures from Wells to the top row of my Landscape page (apologies for inconsistent colour in the beach picture, my photo not the painting) !  I will load a couple more images soon.

I was delighted to win 1st prize at Windsor and Eton En Plein Air 2017.  Participants painted within the grounds of Windsor Castle on a very wet day in July, it was quite a challenge for everybody.   My picture - 'Impressions from Engine Court' - will be presented to HM The Queen and enter her collection.  A photo of the painting, taken in July, can be seen on my Landscape page.

I was also delighted to be awarded 3rd prize in the Buxton Spa Prize Competition 2017, for a picture called 'Going to the Opera'.  It can be seen on my Urban Scenes page.

Since turning full time as an artist in late 2011, I have been able to produce more work, which people often and kindly describe as beautiful.  It is always based on direct observation and learnt drawing skills.  There is a bit more about me and my work on my Contact page.  I have a presence on social media too.
